Poconos, we see winter as a magical season full of endless activities, laughter, and love! Enjoy activities and events in the fluffy blankets of perfectly white snow, or enjoy the warmth of indoors with various shows and other entertainment. Immerse Yourself in Music & Theater
To satisfy your craving for something beautiful and entertaining, take part in some of the country’s best musicians and theater productions. You can catch the guitarist John Curtin every Thursday evening until December 18th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Ledges Hotel. Or perhaps theater is more to your taste, see one of the season’s classics, Scrooge, at the Shawnee Playhouse every weekend until November 30th.
Shop Around
In addition to the area’s superb shopping selections, visitors will also enjoy strolling through the winter farmer’s market and buying local produce, breads, meats, jellies, mustards, mushroom logs, cheeses, and candy, as well as handcrafted soaps, linens, teas, and crafts at The Cooperage Project every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. until December 27th. The Monroe Farmer’s market, located inside the Sherman Theater, also offers fresh eggs, maple syrup, and preserves every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon until March 28th.
Winter Festivals
Come see a variety of festivals that come to participate in the winter celebration in the Poconos. The Great Brews Classic Beer Festival is a great transition from fall to winter. The festival boasts live musical entertainment, nationally renowned brewers, and many craft and food vendors. If you’re interested in the process of brewing, there will also be educational seminars and expert Q & A sessions. The festival takes place on November 22nd and 23rd at the Galleria on the Split Rock Resort.
If you’re interested in participating in the magic of the holidays, join the Magical Fireside Christmas event. The atmosphere at The Inn at Pocono Manor is a true winter wonderland. Come immerse yourself in glittery snow, twinkling lights, holiday music, horse-drawn carriage rides, hot cocoa with peppermint sticks and soft marshmallows, Christmas carols, and storytellers. The magic can be enjoyed November 27th, November 28th, and December 21st through the 30th at The Pocono Manor.
